Simmering with quiet intensity, SLVT pieces together a grungy and down to earth sound that will leave the listener breathless and invigorated. Shayna Zaid, the talent behind SLVT, found her passion for music early on. She began writing songs when she was twelve, around the same time learning to play guitar. Shortly thereafter, Zaid formed a band with her sister and best friend as the lead singer and guitarist. Growing up in Malaysia and exposed to her mother’s records at a young age, Zaid began her music career in earnest when she won first runner-up at a regional talent show called “Asia Bagus” with an original song she wrote. She expanded on the victory by refining her skills in songwriting, drawing on personal experiences to become a powerful voice of empowerment to anyone who needs it.
